The Robots are getting better, faster – MOTOBOT the first autonomous motorcycle-riding humanoid robot

The pace of Robotic integration is accelerating, how long before our Robot Overlords are fully in charge? Will we see fully integrated  AI applications  (intelligent robots etc) in our lifetime?

Yamaha introduced MOTOBOT Ver.1, the first autonomous motorcycle-riding humanoid robot, at the Tokyo Motor Show Wednesday (Oct. 28). A fusion of Yamaha’s motorcycle (an unmodified Yamaha YZF-R1M) and robotics technology, the future Motobot robot will ride an unmodified motorcycle on a racetrack at more than 200 km/h (124 mph), Yamaha says.

“We want to apply the fundamental technology and know-how gained in the process of this challenge to the creation of advanced rider safety and rider-support systems and put them to use in our current businesses, as well as using them to pioneer new lines of business,” says Yamaha in its press release.
